Snö Online Music Competition

You'll need to provide the Sharable Video Link and Music Score (in PDF or JPEG format) upon registration.
Guide to uploading video to YouTube -
Audio or Video MUST NOT be edited or altered in any way, except to raise or lower volume, or lighting as may be necessary. Candidates must not add artificial reverb, filters, or other effects.

The decision of the adjudicator is final and is not open to further discussion.

The participant’s level group is determined by their current skill level.

Applications are not considered complete until all documents and accurate information required and fees have been received by Music Creators.

All fees are non-refundable and must be paid in full upon submission. There will be no refunds for withdrawals after online application has been submitted.

No change of repertoire is allowed once application has been successfully processed.

Participants are permitted to submit multiple entries in the same level group, but are not allowed to perform the same piece.

Any amendments after submission (E.g. name/repertoire spelling error) will incur an Administrative fee.

Entry fee for the Solo Competition is $35 (incl GST).
-
Entry fee for the Duet Competition is $25 (incl GST) per student, both students in the duet need to register separately.
Solo Competition
Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello
Please note: The levels are subject to change depending on the registration numbers.
Level 1 - Beginner to AMEB Preliminary

For students who are beginners or currently working on AMEB Preliminary.

Time limit is 2 minutes

Certificate - Gold, Silver, Bronze certificate for all participants.

Level 2 - AMEB Grade 1 to AMEB Grade 2

For students who are currently working on AMEB Grade 1 or Grade 2 - repertoire performed must be from these levels.

Time limit is 3 minutes

Level 3 - AMEB Grade 3 to AMEB Grade 4

For students who are currently working on AMEB Grade 3 or Grade 4 - repertoire performed must be from these levels.

Category 2 - Animated Movie (E.g. Disney / Pixar)

Suitable for vocal students performing music from animated movies, e.g. Disney or Pixar.

Guide to uploading video to YouTube and submitting the Sharable Video Link
Snö Online Music Competition performances are submitted privately to Music Creators via YouTube. Student or parents/guardians must create a Google account, then a YouTube channel, to which the video will be uploaded. The visibility setting should be set to unlisted so that the video can be shared with Music Creators but will not appear in YouTube search results.
Alternative video file sharing services such as Vimeo, Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox may also be used. Care must be taken to ensure that the file sharing setting enables viewing of the video by Music Creators and administrative personnel. (Please test the link before submitting it.)
The following guide applies to uploading on a PC or Mac through a standard web browser. Experienced users may be able to directly upload videos from a mobile device.
Creating a Google account

Go to https://www.youtube.com/

At the top right, click sign in

If you have a Google account, enter your details; if you are a new user click Create Account.
Create a personal YouTube channel

Select the camera icon at the top right of the window Create a video or post > Upload video

Insert your name and select Create channel.
Upload video

Log in to your YouTube account and select the camera icon at the top right of the window, then select > Upload video.

Click Select files to upload or simply ‘drag and drop’ the video file to the window.

Rename the video title to the following format:
Student's Full Name - Piece Title (Composer) - Instrument
Example: John Smith - Lightly Row (Franz Wiedemann) - Violin -
Video processing commences, once completed, click Next then click the radio button, Yes it’s made for kids.

Click Next, video elements will be displayed (not required), click Next again.

Ensure the visibility setting is set to unlisted, then save.
Submitting the Sharable Video Link

Click the account menu at the top right of the screen and select > My channel. A list of your videos will be displayed.

Select the video to be submitted to Music Creators Snö Online Music Competition, then click Share, which is displayed under the video on the right.

After the share window pops up click copy, next to the URL, to copy the link to the clipboard.

Navigate to the Music Creators Snö Online Music Competition Online Registration page, click the "Solo Competition" or "Duet Competition" button, complete the form details, paste the link into the box labelled Sharable Video Link and click Next to complete the online registration.
