COVID-safe measures
For students and families
All Music Creators students, parents and guardians are responsible for:

Following guidance in relation to adhering to COVID-safe measures by any Music Creators staff member;
-
Adhering to all COVID-19 protocols outlined below while attending lessons at Music Creators;
-
Not attending the lesson in person if the student or any member of their household falls into the following categories:
-
Awaiting a COVID-19 test result;
-
Has tested positive for COVID-19 (exclusion period will apply) or;
-
There has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the student’s school
within the last 14 days (exclusion period for 14 days) or;
-
The student or anyone in their household has visited a Public Health Alert location as listed by Queensland Health (exclusion period for 14
days) or;
-
Is experiencing any fever, sore throat, cough or blocked/runny nose
(not related to hayfever/allergies), regardless of severity.
Video lessons will be offered in these cases. See below for full policy.

Informing the school administration immediately if the student or any member of their household tests positive for COVID-19 within 21 days of having last attended a lesson.
COVID-19 protocols

The school premises will be closed to all persons except for enrolled students, unless parents/guardians are making a payment for items.

Students will be permitted to enter just before their lesson time, and are
requested to wait in their car if they arrive early, unless their
parent/guardian cannot wait with them.

Students may wait in the waiting area after their lesson only if their
parent/guardian is not able to collect them on time.

Parents/guardians are requested not to remain outside the door in
discussion with other families while the student is in their lesson.

Parents/guardians are requested to accompany children only across the
carpark when dropping off and picking up.

If parents/guardians need to wait outside the school for any special
reason, strict 1.5m distancing must be adhered to between all persons.

In the following circumstances, students will not be permitted to attend their lesson in person:
If the student or anyone in their household:-
Awaiting a COVID-19 test result;

Has tested positive for COVID-19 (exclusion period will apply) or;

There has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the student’s school

within the last 14 days (exclusion period for 14 days) or;

The student or anyone in their household has visited a Public Health Alert

location as listed by Queensland Health (exclusion period for 14 days). Students in these categories may have a video lesson at their usual lesson time, or opt for a make-up lesson at a later date. The school must be notified no less than two hours prior to the lesson if this is the case. For all other cancellations, the usual 24-hour make-up lesson policy applies.

All students must sanitise their hands prior to entering the classroom.

Students must avoid all physical contact and touching of the face.
If students use a tissue for their face, they must sanitise their hands immediately after disposing of it.

Students are not permitted to touch door handles at any time.
Teachers and administration staff will open and close doors.

Students must bring all of their own music books and items (such as rosin for string players, picks for guitarists, rock stop for cellists).

No items or books will be lent to students who have left them at home.
Students will not be permitted to make-up lesson in this case. -
Teachers will work on aural and memorisation skills during the lesson in
the event that a student has not brought any materials.
